After the fantastic celebration of its 25th anniversary last year, an event that set records for both competitors and attendees, the Paderborn BBQ contest will return in July 2025!
The Third Annual Tucson Thunderdome King of Freestyle contest, hosted by the Tucson freestyle skateboarding scene; this contest is held at the sacred Eric Michael Ogden Skate Park in Tucson Arizona which has one of the best competitive surfaces in the country.
It only seems right to start off the F! Archive with the earliest post we could find, covering the very first freestyle contest of this century. This is where the “freestyle revival” began – none of us would be here without this event.

The JFSA starts their contest series early in 2025, with the first event taking place in Kuki City in February.
The very first Kona Classic in January 2025 brings freestyle skateboarding and slalom skateboarding back to Kona skatepark in Florida for the first time in decades!
For a long time, the original F! Magazine was the only real source of freestyle-related news and articles in the world – and we’re dragging some of those historical articles out to republish them here for posterity.
