SKANE ROLLE SWEDISH OPEN 2026
Skate Rolle Swedish Open returns for its second edition on August 8–9, 2026, in Malmö, Sweden, after a successful debut in 2025 that was met with a lot of enthusiasm from the freestyle skateboarding community.
Over the past few years, we haven’t seen many freestyle competitions taking place in Sweden, so it’s great to see a new event not only appear on the calendar, but also quickly establish itself as one that people are looking forward to.
What makes this contest even more interesting is the fact that, alongside the freestyle skateboarding competition, there will also be a longboard freestyle contest. In recent years we’ve seen quite a few longboarders entering freestyle skateboarding competitions and vice versa, with both disciplines sharing more and more tricks, techniques, and influences.
For those who follow both scenes, it’s not unusual to see riders crossing over from one discipline to the other or drawing inspiration from both. That’s why having these two contests take place during the same weekend creates a great opportunity for riders to connect, exchange ideas, and push each other’s progression.
The event will feature four freestyle divisions (Pro, Am, Women+, and Masters) and four longboard divisions (Open Pro, Open AM, Women Pro, and Women AM), with the divisions alternating throughout the weekend. Run times will be 120 seconds for Freestyle Pro, 100 seconds for all other freestyle divisions, and 90 seconds for all longboard divisions.
The competition entry fee is €20 (200 SEK), payable on-site during registration. No advance payment is required, and riders competing in both freestyle and longboard will only need to pay a single entry fee.
Just like last year, free accommodation will be available for competitors at Bryggeriet. Riders who wish to stay there only need to bring a sleeping bag and mattress. Accommodation is reserved for competitors, although minors may bring up to two guardians. Bryggeriet Indoor Skatepark and the nearby longboard hall, located just a few hundred meters away, will also serve as the main evening hangout spots throughout the weekend.
Music submission details for competition runs will be sent out by email closer to the event.
In addition to the Swedish Open, the weekend will also host the official Swedish Championship. This championship ranking is separate from the main contest standings and will not affect the event results or judging. It is open only to Swedish riders or those who have been living in Sweden for at least the past year.
Adding even more atmosphere to the weekend, the Malmö Festival begins during the same week as the Swedish Open. The city will be filled with free concerts, cultural events, and activities, creating an exciting backdrop for everyone visiting Malmö. Often described as one of the largest city festivals in Europe, it offers plenty to enjoy beyond the competition itself.
The first edition showed that there is definitely interest in an event like this, and we’re excited to see how it continues to grow in 2026. With a beautiful city like Malmö, two competitions running side by side, an official Swedish Championship, free accommodation for competitors, live streaming for those watching from home, and a community that is always ready to travel and come together, all the ingredients are there for another memorable weekend.
VERY IMPORTANT : In case of bad weather, the event will be moved from Stapelbäddsparken to the indoor hall, which has plenty of space.
