AJ Kohn’s annual Flat Attack took place at the Ithaca Reggae Fest in New York, USA last weekend. This year they improved on the grit and gravel of the tennis courts by screwing particle board down onto it to make a temporary freestyle area; apparently this required running repairs between divisions, but at least it allowed people to roll around a bit more smoothly!

AJ also revived the Henry Candioti “Skate4Fun” award from the World Round Up – given to “the freestyler that best embodies skating with style” – and it was awarded to Eric Lowery this year. A good choice – no one has better spacewalks than Eric!
Next contest in the calendar is over on the other side of the United States – the US Open kicks off on Saturday June 28th in Venice, California. The roster looks pretty stacked, with skaters coming over from Canada, Germany, Japan, and Romania to go against some of the best skaters the US has to offer – and then it’s only another two weeks until we’re back to Germany for the annual Paderborn BBQ Contest!
