Freestyle Skateboarding returns to Marl!
For the first time in 40 years, the German freestyle community will gather again for an open national championship that connects generations — bringing together the legends of the past and the rising stars of today.

Expect to see some of Europe’s finest freestylers, all sharing the floor and pushing the limits of creativity, style, and flow.

The Sports Hall of August Döhr School offers excellent conditions,  a large, smooth surface ideal for competition, warm-up, and training sessions.

All participants are welcome to stay overnight directly inside the hall, making it a true freestyle weekend experience.

To make traveling easier, a pickup service will be available:

• Friday (before the event)
• Sunday & Monday (after the event)
  Regular trips will run to and from Marl Sinsen and Marl Mitte train stations.

This event is not just a contest, it’s a tribute.

Back in 1984, over 40 years ago, a legendary freestyle competition took place right here in Marl. Those pioneers weren’t superstars, but visionaries, skaters who built something new with passion, curiosity, and determination.

Now, in 2025, we come together not out of nostalgia, but to celebrate continuity, a bridge between generations.
We warmly invite all former participants to join us again, whether as spectators, guests, or competitors in the Masters division.

Because skateboarding is more than a sport, it’s a living culture, a family.
A place where generations don’t face each other, but ride together.
Where mutual respect transcends age, status, or ability.

In times when the world feels divided, freestyle reminds us what true community means,  young talents, old legends, parents, children, beginners, and champions, all connected by one board and four wheels.

We hope to see many of the original riders return to Marl,  some of whom are still skating, competing, and inspiring others today.

You are the proof that skateboarding has no expiration date.
